Pop Noir on mtvU

Speaking of music videos, we’re supremely excited to announce that the first video we directed has been accepted to mtvU, and goes into rotation starting Monday.

What makes it even more exciting is that the video is “DIY” by our alter-egos, Pop Noir!

News for Thurs. March 25th

We’ve been SO busy this week with that Macaroons video. Passover is rapidly approaching (right? Must check the date…), so we ended up pulling an all-nighter to get this done in time. There’s nothing we like less than watching the sun rise in our candy wrapper-strewn little studio, but we’re very proud of our first fully animated music video.

Here it is: The Macaroons – Matzoh Ball (Don’t Kick It)

News for Tues. March 16th

Luke’s just finished the sleeve for Kim Fowley’s “Kim Vincent Fowley”/“21st Century Youth” 7". It’ll be out this May on Black Thoughts.
We’ve just heard the track trough the L.A. Record website… it’s brilliant! So excited.

News for Weds. March 10th

It’s that time of year again, time for SXSW. Every March, our good pals at FYF Fest decide to heap a ton of work on us last minute… but we’re not complaining!

In addition to the official MWTX Party poster, which you can see in the Music Industry section of our site, We’ve literally just completed a poster for the surprise appearance of GWAR. Literally. The ink is still wet… getting crusty on our scanner.

The poster is an obvious homage to the classic “WAR IS OVER!” John & Yoko posters, but is also the complete antithesis! Scroll down a bit to check it out.

In other news, We’ve just completed an EP cover and a coloring book for JDUB Records’ first kid’s band, The Macaroons. We’re also currently working on an animated video for their track “Matzoh Ball (Don’t Kick It)”.

And finally, saving the best for last: Luke’s been asked to design the cover for Kim Fowley’s new 7"! If you’re not aware of our relationship with Kim Fowley, check out the video on our Pop Noir blog.

News for Friday, Aug. 28th

Hey all,

We’re currently working with Los Angeles-based PR/Marketing/etc/etc firm Rock Steady on various projects… not least of all, their website.

Check it out: www.rocksteadyla.com. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

In other news, Luke is working on a nearly 2 foot long illustration of stoner jokes for L.A. Record, and Joe’s editing Pop Noir’s $1,000 debut video for “D.I.Y”, as well as doing a bit of house-keeping on the various other websites we’ve got our inky fingers in.

It’s much too hot here in LA, and there’s no AC at HQ FHB. But we keep it cool with acronyms.
